With the impending first snow storm of 2009, it was time to get J.P. a pair of snow pants. He already went outside to play in the little dusting of snow that we received in the morning and was looking forward to more. So, we bought him a new hat, gloves and snow pants. He already had his Cars boots ready to go. As the snow began to fall again in the afternoon, he managed to get his snow pants on and was ready to go. Well, that is ready except that he got undressed to put the snow pants on. Somehow, we left out the part where we told him that the snow pants go over his clothes.

Last night’s softball game was a great one for McKinley. I am sooo proud of her and how far she has come since her first season.
Most of the time, McKinley plays in the short center position. While playing short center, she covered second base and made three outs including the game ending one.
McKinley also was hit by a pitch and walked. Although she took the ball right in the side, she was a trooper and simply took her base.
She also had two good hits and even outran the play at first to be safe on one of them. Coach Brian says that she made it “by a step”.
As a result, her coach awarded her with a game ball for her efforts. This made her day, and it makes mine to tell you how proud I am of her for trying her best.

It is September and this month will be the 10th anniversary of the start of the Lucas Family. To help celebrate, we’ve given our web site a new look and feel.
We’ve changed our site over from Joomla to WordPress. And, we’ve gone with the Monochrome Pro theme from Graph Paper Press for our layout. To spice things up, we’ve gone with Illinois colors.
This year we promise to keep you up to date on the latest happenings. Yes, this will include more photos and pictures.
Hey, we might even try to post them on a regular basis.
